Oh Christmas Tree

Yippee for Christmas tree shopping.

Our weekends since Thanksgiving have been so packed. We've had turkey weekend celebrations with family up in Daly City & Sacramento, Lizzi's 1/2 marathon all over LA, the Pacquaio/de la hoya fight at Noel's parents' house in La Mirada, scrapbooking at Once Upon a Page, SHC Christmas gift exchange at Christina/Domingo's house in Union City, the Apt Christmas gift exchange at Randy's place in Sacramento and Kuya John's b-day party in Daly City. *phew*

I was starting to wonder if we were going to be able to squeeze in a Christmas tree purchase this year. Lucky for us, Paul was able to come home at a decent time today. I didn't realize how important getting a tree was to me until I found myself singing random lines from Christmas songs when Paul told me we could get our tree today. Really, the lines were a mish mosh of lines from different songs. For the most part I can only manage a couple of lines here and there from 1 or 2 songs. But I sang them over and over! Outside the weather is frightful..but...dadadadada...delightful...dadada...let it snow let it snow let it snow.. I was so happy and I think Paul started to get into the spirit of our lil tradition as well.

Our evening in list form:
- empty out my trunk, load tarp and bungee cords
- stop for holiday drinks at Starbucks. a 'tradition' we started last year. this time, we both had the caramel apple cider. I think the sweet espresso drinks are just too sweet for me now. the cider was delish.

- arrive at home depot christmas tree lot
- pick a random tree. eenie meenie minee moe.
anna: this is the one
paul: this one?
anna: that one
paul: are you sure
anna: yupp. that's the one
paul: really? do you want to see it?
anna: nope. that's the one
paul: okay
- take pictures with our new random tree, still wrapped in rope
- take pictures with other christmas decorations at the tree lot

- wrap tree in tarp
- put tree in trunk (it fit in the car with the trunk closed. this is a 1st in 3 years! yay! not to mention that this was the fastest christmas tree purchase. yay for us again!)
- gased up at Costco
- attempted to buy Christmas pajamas at Target. No selection for guys and no sizes for women, though I absolutely LOVED their sets. Must search other Targets!
- Thai food at Sanam Luang
- Went home - 'unwrapped' tarp from tree and placed in stand

Our plan is to decorate tomorrow. Let's hope Paul can get off of work on time tomorrow and that I can find us some fun Christmas PJ's.

Yippee Skippee for our Christmas Tree. I will LOVE him for the 2 weeks he is around.

Oh - and yay for my 1st blog post!
