small party//the crossbones inn

i know. i know. we are practically 2 holidays past halloween. but a friend recently shared these great pics he took of his niece's halloween themed first birthday party and i fell in love. tell me you aren't dying for halloween to roll around again. yes, pun was intended. photos are by my amazing photographer friend, Mike Makabenta.

did you catch the fake blood on mommy's gloves? *egad!* my favorite part tho? that little dagger. sometimes it's the smallest details that send me over the top.

small stuff//activity table

as we transition to life with a toddler, i've been dreaming up fun activities to do with chase, who is now 13 months old. but first, we need the right space to inspire us both.  we're window shopping for an activity table that
  • is cute. modern. affordable. (the table above is cute & modern, but affordable it is not!)
  • has plenty of storage
  • has chairs that we can scoot under the table, while chase is sitting in it
i still need to decide on the table top. i'm on the fence about wanting a table with a lip, similar to those found on train tables. a nice feature for some activities, not so nice with others.

so we haven't picked a table out just yet.  in the meantime, though, i just had to share these options i came across from P'kolino. aren't they the cutest? and the best part? they're pretty affordable, a rarity with modern design.
i love the bold orange, the price ($90!), reversible table top & hidden storage.  if only the chairs had backs to them. it's sold exclusively at giggle.
the chairs on this table are a safer bet for my little guy. but with all of the crafting and play we're planning on doing, we may need a bigger table.

do you have an activity table you love or would love to own? please do share! i'd love to take a peak.

plans and schemes

i had the most amazing day, taking photos and scheming, in the blog sense, with lizzi. we came up with lots of fun ideas. it'll be interesting to see which will come to fruition. so many plans and thoughts and randomness have been running through my head. i really need to start writing it all down. but first i need a fun notebook to inspire me. like the one @ the top.  or these down below...
why yes i am! source

i have a not so secret obsession with birds. *sigh* source

i want this just for that pencil holder. i think all notebooks should come with one. don't you?

these 2 notebooks made by timeforteame are brilliant. i just love the wood binding and fun patterns on both.

do you keep a pretty notebook to keep you inspired and organized?

thankful for...my family

there are so many things to be thankful for this year. i feel truly blessed to have such a loving family. we grow closer and even more supportive of one another year by year and i love that.

i especially appreciate just how much they all love and adore chase.  my heart feels full when i see how excited they always are to be with him.  i see love radiating from them whenever they are around him.  he is the center of our universe and he knows that. and i think that's wonderful. i want him to soak it all in. to know just how much he is loved. because this family has a lot of it. and for that, i'm so thankful.

this picture makes me so happy. it captures just how much chase is loved. he is our everything. Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!  :)

new art for the house//jubilee

meet jubilee by angry woebots. i snatched her up @ designercon.  i think she is so precious.  i just love the pop of yellow and the contrast between her, the panda and the newspaper background. seeing her makes my heart glow. now, she just needs a frame and a place to live. somewhere in my house, of course. :)

small fashion//nerd crew

after going through the pretty art madness @ DesignerCon this past saturday, chase took a break and roamed around outside. these days, chase loves to explore new spaces, while touching and silently observing things around him.  he especially loves to hold small random objects in his hands, sometimes more so than his actual toys.
on chase: letterman jacket by h&m, skull/crossbones shirt by lucky brand jeans kid (thanks uncle Ty!), original fit jeans by h&m, nizza adikids shoes by adidas and hat by h&m. p.s. chase is eating one of his favorite snacks: trader joe's old fashion cinnamon graham crackers. he thinks they're yummers!

hope you're having an amazing tuesday!

weekend recap - sports focus

this little boy had such an amazing weekend, which started and ended with sports. friday found us @ the baseball stadium. a stadium which will remain unnamed because @ our house, we are giants fans! i'll be blogging more about that stadium experience another day.

sunday found us @ the lil guy's first warriors game @ an unnamed sports complex. he had so much fun, watching the game and roaming around the arena. here are a few pics from the evening.

having fun, wandering around with his ticket

easily distracted while watching the game

good night everyone. the lil guy is already asleep and i'm off to join him. :)

Prepping for Sunday

i'm up late, preparing for sunday and the week. including choosing outfits for our holiday photo shoot with this talented lady. so excited! i also prep'd some healthy snacks for the kiddo - quartered grapes, yogurt mixed with bananas, raspberries & blueberries and whole wheat banana pancakes (not pictured). yummers and good night! :)

DesignerCon Sneak

our lil fam had an awesomest day @ DesignerCon in Pasadena.  i'm on such a sugar high from all of the pretty eye candy.  i can't wait to share pictures later this week. as a sneak, here's a picture of chase and paul @ the event with one of our fave artists, chris lee, who had a booth at the show. yippee!
i blogged about chris here.  i love love love his stuff! he's such a talented and super sweet guy.

he even gifted us with a few free superhero prints as a thank you for supporting him so much. awww...thanks chris you make it super easy. you have the awesomest stuff.

rain rain go away. come again another day.
i'm sorry mr. rain. it's just that we're too busy to see you this weekend. but feel free to stop by on monday or tuesday or even wednesday, while i'm @ work. that would be better timing for us. thank you!
hello long hair. when do you think you'll come back home? i miss you a lot.
pictures are all circa january 2009 - tokyo.

small fashion//new kicks

Around here, the men in my life have more shoes than I do. Chase is transitioning out of his size 4's and into his 5's. Before I let that break my heart (for many reasons), I decided to check out the kicks he has in store for this new phase. *spoiled* ;) My fave Jordan's are definitely the 5s so I'm excited about him wearing these, but ummm...honey bear...no walking on the dirt, okay? Pictured from top to bottom: Jordan 5 Retro's, Adidas Superstars, Kobe 5's and Adidas Nizza Adikids (how cute is that monster face?).

Bye size 4's. You've been good to us and we'll miss you tons, but it's time for us to move on. Out of these shoes, Chase wore the Keep and Air Max's most. While the shoes with velcro are easy to put on, they are also easy for him to take off - not so good people! Pictured from top to bottom: Keep Ramos in Grey Gingham Herringbone, Adidas Superstars, Adidas Dragons, Nike Air Max '95's and H&M red plaid shoes.

I think I'm in the mood to shop for some shoes. Are you? What about these cutees?
These ADORABLE kicks are from Keep's Guerra collection. Pictured clockwise from the top left: Guerra Brown Red Check, Black and Blue Check, Brown Plaid and Dorothy Check (love the name!).

These adorable munchkins are from Keep's Ramos collection. Pictured left to right: Ramos Gilman Bird's Eye and Bird's Eye Suede.
My absolute fave though has to be this little guy. *sigh* isn't he just the cUUuuUUuutest?! hmmm...maybe it'd be okay to get the lil guy just ONE more shoe?
