chase meets lily

we were trekking around old town pasadena this past saturday, when chase met lily and her friends. they were hanging out taking pictures and, as we walked by, they asked if chase could join them.  i happily obliged and quickly plopped him next to them. he certainly didn't object. he's such a flirt already.  ;)

him and him

i love him and him. i love that they're alike in so many ways. i love that chase has inherited his dad's love of basketball. he often runs and grabs his b-ball when he hears the garage opening, indicating his daddy's arrival. i love that it's already becoming 'their thing.' it's the only thing we really let chase watch on tv and only because i love seeing the both of them get excited watching games together. i love imagining them continuing to bond over basketball as chase gets older.

i love that chase has inherited paul's social precociousness and his sense of humor. these are 2 things i love about paul so i feel lucky to now also have a munchkin that seems to have adopted these traits himself. paul is such a social and likable guy. it seems like he's remained friends with everyone he's ever been in contact with and i love that. he has this knack for finding common ground with everyone he meets. i love his sense of humor. he's often the entertainer of the group, always making everyone crack up with his wit. it's definitely always fun when he's around. i love that.

i'm glad that chase seems to be taking after his daddy in these respects. he loves being around social gatherings. he often stops what he's doing to join a group engaged in laughter. he'll start laughing himself, even when he doesn't know what he's laughing about. he just wants to be included in the fun. i love that.

i love my knuckleheads. they keep me entertained. :)

small fashion//black and yellow

this little cutee took to the streets outside of mozza after daddy's bday dinner for a quick lil small fashion shoot. i'm really loving these black and yellow jordans (old love new love). they are definitely my fave of this round of shoes. coincidentally, he's also finally grown into this matching motorcycle shirt that i picked up @ the end of last summer from gymboree. (jeans are from gap)

'black and yellow' 'black and yellow' - can't help but think about that song by wiz khalifa. ;)

small fashion//new kicks...again

back in november, i shared a peek into chase's shoe collection. he was transitioning into size 5 kicks at the time. it looks like we are onto the next one again my friends. this is what size 6 has in store for us. clockwise from the top: adidas dragons, jordan 1 old love new love, jordan 13 flint greys and vans era's. i really love the yellow & black jordan 1's. i might have to buy him more clothes that match. you know, just to get more use out of these shoes. ;)

chase was blessed (as he always is) with lots of love and some pretty awesome gifts this christmas. these are some of his favorite fashion related presents. don't you love it when your friends & family hit the nail on the head when it comes to a gift you would've totally bought if you saw it yourself?

this month @ day care, chase is learning about things that go. he'll get a chance to dress up and act like a driver on a pretend bus, ride toy cars, read books about different forms of transportation, and play with cars through sand in the sensory table. i love how well thought out the 'curricula' is @ his day care.

this small fashion shoot was taken @ the travel town museum. on chase: plaid hat & aqua vest from h&m. white long sleeve undershirt from target. hurley jeans from macy's (gifted by uncle jesse & auntie jen - thanks!) adidas shell toes from the best daddy sneaker head ever.

the hubby is a bit (definite exaggeration) of a sneaker head. have you figured that out by now? he is definitely the one behind chase's collection. so, i guess it's inevitable that shoes will be an ongoing theme on this blog. 


a little background to satisfy the curious. chase's collection started with random comments i made way back when. as a plan to slow down the hubby's own shoe collection, i suggested he start buying little ones for the kids we would have some day. the outcome? more shoes than a big & little guy would ever need.  major plan back fire! ha! oh well. 


we've had a family set of these jordan 4 mars (below) since their re-release in 2006. so, yes, you can say that i've waited quite a while to finally wear these shoes with chase.  i don't wear sneakers as often as the hubby, but i just had to pull out my pair to match the little guy.

after going through the pretty art madness @ DesignerCon this past saturday, chase took a break and roamed around outside. these days, chase loves to explore new spaces, while touching and silently observing things around him.  he especially loves to hold small random objects in his hands, sometimes more so than his actual toys. 

on chase: letterman jacket by h&m, skull/crossbones shirt by lucky brand jeans kid (thanks uncle Ty!), original fit jeans by h&m, nizza adikids shoes by adidas and hat by h&m. p.s. chase is eating one of his favorite snacks: trader joe's old fashion cinnamon graham crackers. he thinks they're yummers!

Around here, the men in my life have more shoes than I do. Chase is transitioning out of his size 4's and into his 5's. Before I let that break my heart (for many reasons), I decided to check out the kicks he has in store for this new phase. *spoiled* ;) My fave Jordan's are definitely the 5s so I'm excited about him wearing these, but ummm...honey bear...no walking on the dirt, okay? Bye size 4's. You've been good to us and we'll miss you tons, but it's time for us to move on. Out of these shoes, Chase wore the Keep and Air Max's most. While the shoes with velcro are easy to put on, they are also easy for him to take off - not so good people! we spent the day at the halloween harvest festival @ pierce college. lotsa fun, lotsa memories - chase took his first steps! *sigh* and lotsa fashion! chase wore his checkered beanie from h&m, striped long sleeve from old navy, paul frank sweater from target, stella mccartney jeans from gap, and nike air max's from daddy. we think boy clothes are so much fun! what do you love about fall fashion?
